Healthy growth for Disney+

13 May, 2022

Disney+ saw a 33% increase in customers in the company’s fiscal Q2, with Disney reporting almost 138 million subscribers for its flagship streaming service and over 205M across its DTC offerings.

Disney+ now reaches 137.7m subscribers, having added 7.9 million subscribers in the quaretr, while the total Disney streaming portfolio, which includes Hulu and ESPN+, has over 205 customers combined. It means Disney as a whole is coming very close to Netflix’s 222m, coming on the back of a disappointed set of results for Netflix recently.

Disney+ now has 44.4 million subscribers in the US and Canada, up from 37.3 million a year ago. Internationally, excluding its Disney+ Hotstar service in India, it has 43.2 million subs, while Disney+ Hotstar has 50.1 million.
