Netflix is trying to write the next part of its story, reaching for alternative ways to monetise its vast content library to revive its revenue growth and expand margins. But it’s a strategy built out of necessity rather than desire. And there’s a high chance that investors will switch off early. The streaming group added 1.75 million new subscribers during the first three months of this year, fewer than the two million that analysts had been looking for.
