Parrot Analytics Partners With FOX Networks Group To Gauge International Appeal Of The Walking Dead, Season 7

Parrot Analytics’ Demand Measurement Systems Finds Pre-Premiere Audience Demand for The Walking Dead Up by an Average of 84% in 50 Countries.

Parrot Analytics, a leading data science firm that measures and predicts global demand for content, has partnered with international broadcaster FOX Networks Group to quantify cross-platform, country-specific audience demand for the new season (7) of The Walking Dead in international FOX markets. Parrot Analytics found that demand for the series was up by an average of 84% in 50 countries, making The Walking Dead the most in-demand series in all key FOX markets.

Demand for The Walking Dead has grown by over 50% in markets such as Germany, India, and Brazil, but the show has increased its recent demand footprint in the United Kingdom and the United States by more than 100%. Furthermore, for the majority of the country-specific demand data analyzed, anticipation for The Walking Dead’s season 7 increased faster than it did for season 6 over the same time period.

“We are excited to be working with the FOX Networks Group team to help them gauge the incredible demand for The Walking Dead in all markets,” said Wared Seger, CEO, Parrot Analytics.  “Consumers express their interest, interaction and consumption of content in many different ways, using a multitude of platforms. We collect and analyze billions of these consumer Demand Expressions™ each week. This provides a value-added layer of insights, on top of traditional audience measurement metrics, to drive marketing and monetization strategies.”

“Data is key and Parrot provides overnight access to comparable global demand data which can be especially helpful in the lead up to a premiere” noted Christian Brent, SVP Global Research & Audience Strategy, FOX Networks Group. “Clearly the measurement industry is fragmented and so being able to have globally consistent data available overnight on how content brands like this are resonating with consumers is incredibly valuable.”

Parrot also found that demand for The Walking Dead in the US was nearly twice that of the second-most in-demand show, increasing by over 67% from prior years. Post the season 7 launch, The Walking Dead achieved the second-highest demand of any show, behind only Game of Thrones’ season 6 finale.
