Top 10 Digital Originals:

Rather than looking at global content popularity, in this post we examine specifically the demand for TV series in the U.S. domestic market: In the first week after its release, Netflix’s Stranger Things has overtaken Orange is the New Black as the most popular digital original series with over 3 times the demand of the former top show.

BoJack Horseman also released new episodes recently, but its demand did not exceed that of Marco Polo, though it may grow next week as the premiere was near the end of the week, on July 22nd.

Making a Murderer was back in the top ten as news that it would return for another season was released on July 19th.

Top 10 Overall:

Though Game of Thrones remains the show with the highest TV ratings as measured by demand, Stranger Things has more demand this week than last week’s rank two show, Mr. Robot.

Several shows in the top ten, such as The Walking Dead and Teen Wolf, increased in demand this week despite the fact that they are not airing, possibly due to news from the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.

The popularity of the app Pokémon Go has clearly spilled over to the original series, which ranks ninth overall this week.
