OTT demand measurement is made possible by leveraging Parrot Analytics’ global television demand measurement technology. In this post we take a look at the U.S. domestic market incorporating broadcast, linear, pay TV as well as OTT TV analyticsStranger Things continues to have a stronghold on the Top 10 original series on digital platforms in the US, keeping its #1 spot as the most popular digital original series for the third week running.

In fact, Stranger Things is continuing to close the gap on the most in-demand series in the US (across all platforms) — Game of Thrones. Last week’s Top 10 list showed Game of Thrones averaging about 12 million Demand Expressions™ per day higher than Stranger Things. This week, Stranger Things averaged 43.5m Demand Expressions ™ — only 4.5m behind Game of Thrones (48m Demand Expressions™).

HBO’s The Night Of, is the newest entrant to the overall Top 10 list, alongside fellow new entrant, Starz’s Power. Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe (which recently celebrated its 100th episode) continues its rise and ends the week as the 7th most popular TV series in the US across all platforms.

Elsewhere on digital platforms, Fuller House (Netflix) makes a resurgence to take #4 slot on the Top 10 original series on digital platforms, while — in a era of superheroes — Daredevil and Jessica Jones (both Netflix) see a week-on-week increase on the Top 10 rank. Yahoo! original series, Community — perhaps on the back of Yahoo!’s recent acquisition — enters the newest entrant to the digital original series Top 10, pushing out Netflix’s Bloodline from the Top 10.

Overall — across cable, network and OTT platforms — summer favorites include newer series like Preacher, Mr. Robot and Ray Donovan, alongside longer-running series such as Pretty Little Liars, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead (the latter two not currently airing).
