Rick and Morty gets a surprise release; audience demand increases

Rick and Morty, an adult animated series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network’s late night programming, received a surge of demand for the series. We noticed the surprise launch of season three on the 2nd of April had a flow-on effect in terms of demand that spills over into other Adult Swim’s series.

In the United States, Rick and Morty have seen a nine-fold increase in popularity on the 2nd of April compared to the previous day. It’s been over 15 months since it aired any new episodes, Rick and Morty’s surprised launch even managed to surpass Adventure Time’s demand in the United States. In fact, it is seven times as popular although both animated series are currently on hiatus.
