Though there has been a recent explosion in the number of high-budget, live-action superhero shows, there has always been more animated series based on comic book characters. These shows have an audience of mainly children; the shows chosen here air on Disney XD and Cartoon Network for Marvel and DC content, respectively.

We consider the average demand over the last four weeks in the United States for the three most recent animated titles from each company using Demand Expressions™. The ranking by demand is: Unlike the live-action shows, the Marvel title Ultimate Spider-Man takes the top spot and Marvel overall has more demand (with an average of 1,304,518 Demand Expressions™) than DC (with only an average of 674,713 Demand Expressions™).
