Overall - Demand VS Market Average.jpg

For the week of March 7 - 13, Spongebob Squarepants was the most in-demand show in the United States, with 70.0 times the demand of the average series.

The Flash was the 7th most in-demand show for the week, the same as last week. Its season premiere last week launched it into the 7th spot in the most in-demand overall ranking. Its ability to hold onto audiences’ attention in its second week is a good indicator that the show should be able hold its ground as it continues releasing episodes.

Saturday Night Live was the 5th most in-demand series in the US this week. The show is currently on hiatus until March 27th. It is scheduled to resume airing episodes with Maya Rudolph hosting.

South Park jumped into the top 10 most in-demand shows this week following the comedy’s covid vaccination special episode. This is the follow-up to last year’s first covid themed special episode, which was a success for the show.

Digital Original - Demand VS Market Average.jpg

WandaVision remained the most in-demand digital original for the week. With 50.7 times the demand of the average series, it was slightly higher than last week. This follows the finale of its first season on March 5th. Disney+ has already begun heavily promoting the next Marvel series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, due to be released on March 19th. With this coming so close on the heels of the WandaVision finale it looks as if Disney+ is trying to have a non-stop line-up of hits

Demand for The Crown was up notably this week following the widely watched and much discussed interview with Megan and Harry. The show was already riding high last week after winning big at the Golden Globe Awards.

Ted Lasso was the 8th most in-demand digital original in the US this week. This show got off to a slow start when it premiered last year, but eventually found fans and ended up being one of Apple TV+’s hits. Jason Sudekis won the Golden Globe for best actor in a comedy series. The series also nabbed several Critic’s Choice and Director’s Guild of America Awards. There should be a much larger spike in demand for this show’s second season premiere after all this attention.
