As we pointed out in our global television demand report, content investments among the three largest SVOD platforms more than doubled between 2013 and 2017, from $5.5 billion to $13 billion. This has led to a fivefold increase in original broadcast content, with the number of new titles increasing from only 21 in 2013 to 114 in 2017. This backs up the idea that SVODs and vMVPDs are pioneers of a new age in TV and video.
