We are living in a strange new era where the true success of streaming shows and movies remains nebulous, since companies will only choose to share exact figures when it suits them. Disney, for instance, has said that Falcon and the Winter Soldier is its most popular Disney Plus debut ever. But what does that mean?
Well, a number of companies are parsing data to find out, and one of them is Parrot Analytics which measures the “demand” for shows based on a number of external factors, and comes up with comparison metrics. And their data shows that Falcon and the Winter Solder is indeed a massive hit, compared to some past and present competition.
Demand for shows grow as more episodes are released, and at its current pace, Falcon should land in between WandaVision and The Mandalorian, though it has fewer episodes overall than either (6 versus 9 and 8 respectively). Though total airtime is about the same with longer episodes each week.
