‘Stranger Things’ vs ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’: Who won the ratings war?

3 June, 2022

We’re one week on from the big battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Stranger Things releasing simultaneously on Disney+ and Netflix respectively but who is winning the war so far? Using multiple metrics from different providers, we can give you some idea.

Neither show requires any introduction at this point. Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s biggest shows in its history perhaps only second or third to the likes of Bridgerton or Money Heist.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is based on Disney’s Star Wars intellectual property that brings back some of the most iconic characters from the universe in a new limited series that fills in some of the gaps between Episode 3 and Episode 4. For context, Netflix is sitting at 222 million worldwide subscribers while Disney+ as of February is sitting at 129.8 million subscribers.
