The upward trend in popularity for anime over the past few years shows no sign of slowing down.
According to data from Parrot Analytics, over the past two years the demand for anime has increased by 118%. Obviously, the pandemic has played a big part in the current uptake of various media, but even so, that is a frankly insane figure to grapple with.
This is also part of a longer trend that’s occurred over the past decade or so. In addition, much of this increased demand stems from the advent of streaming services like Netflix releasing anime on their platform.
