MEXICO CITY - August 10, 2026 - The National Chamber of the Mexican Film Industry (CANACINE) has announced the nominees for the 21st Luminus Awards. The ceremony will take place on August 26 at Estudios Churubusco.
The name “Luminus Awards” evokes the light of cinema projectors and the glow of the red carpets on which films are presented. First introduced in 2016, the name has been revived this year to give the event a distinctive visual identity and reinforce its status as a major showcase for both cinema and content created for streaming platforms.
The Luminus Awards recognize the most outstanding productions and talent in Mexican cinema. For the first time this year, the awards will also honor the nationally produced series with the largest audience demand in Mexico, as determined by Parrot Analytics. Eligibility for this edition covers films and content released between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
