In this article we look at the top breakout shows of the past week. Breakout shows are the most in-demand series that have premiered in the past 90 days.
Disney+’s latest live-action Star Wars offering Ahsoka topped the ranking in its debut week, with 49.3 times the average series demand. The show had a 78% increase in demand which came in the lead up to, and right after its first two episodes premiered on August 22. It unseated My Adventures with Superman, which had 36.5 times the average series demand, a further 5% decline this week.
Taylor Sheridan is Paramount+’s gift that keeps on giving. The prolific showrunner’s new show Special Ops: Lioness had another 5% increase in demand this week, making its way up to third place in the ranking with 23.3 times the average series demand in the U.S. this week. FX’s Justified: City Primeval maintained its position in fourth place with almost the same level of demand as last week, albeit with a minor 1% decline in demand.
Apple TV+’s Hijack and Peacock’s Twisted Metal both lost their positions in the top three this week, sliding down the ranking to fifth and sixth place respectively. While the former only had a 6% decline in demand, the latter had a double digit 12% drop in demand. On the other hand, TNT’s All Elite Wrestling: Collision held on to its position in seventh place with 20.5 times the average series demand, a slight 1% uptick from last week.
Secret Invasion had a further 16% decline in demand this week, sliding to eighth place in the ranking with 18.1 times the average series demand. Meanwhile, AMC’s spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City remained in ninth place with 17.3 times the average series demand, a minor 2% decline in demand from last week. Rounding out the ranking we see The Crowded Room in tenth place with 16.5 times the average series demand, an 8% decline in demand from last week.
