This murder mystery thriller aired its final episode, which included a major plot twist, on December 17th. Clearly seeing the potential of this show, HBO Max renewed it for a second season the day after its season 1 finale.
Pennyworth and The Expanse premiered their second and fifth seasons respectively this week causing demand for the series to jump. Demand for the Indian series Criminal Justice increased by nearly 50% this week. This series ended in 2019, however a sequel series is premiering on December 24th. Fans are clearly rediscovering this show prior to the follow-up series release.
It is perhaps surprising to see White Collar, a series that ended in 2014, among the fastest risers for the week. However, earlier this year at a cast reunion, the show's creators teased that plans are in the works to bring back the series. Fans took advantage of the 6th anniversary of this show's finale this week to remember it and express hope about the revival.
Among the top 100 digital original series, Amazon Prime Video's new original The Wilds was up by 290%. The show was released in its entirety on December 11 and similar to The Flight Attendant was quickly renewed this week for a second season. Fans already riding high from binging the show were ecstatic at the news of a confirmed future season.
Apple TV+'s Servant and Netflix's Locke and Key both received votes of confidence this week as each was renewed for a third season in advance of their second season premieres scheduled for next year. Demand for Cobra Kai has been growing consistently in the lead up to its S3 premiere on Netflix at the beginning of January. This will be the first season to premiere as a Netflix original as the show was acquired by the streamer earlier this year.
