For the month of January, Riverdale was the most in-demand teen drama in the US. With 21.24 times the average series demand it had a substantial lead over the second ranked teen drama, All American. The CW has clearly made a name for itself in the teen drama genre as the original network for Riverdale, All American, One Tree Hill, and the original Gossip Girl.
One Tree Hill and The O.C. have stayed in-demand despite having concluded several years ago. The shows had respectively 7.1 and 5.8 times the average series demand in January. A revival of these series a la Gossip Girl or even a one off reunion could tap into the perennial popularity of these shows. Pretty Little Liars, which ended much more recently, has already planned an upcoming sequel, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.
The Society, which was released in 2019, had originally been scheduled for a season 2 but that was scrapped due to the pandemic. The fact that the series, with only a single season and no new episodes in years, still ranks among the 10 most in-demand teen dramas could be a sign that it deserves the second season it never got.
