OTT ratings are now possible for TV shows anywhere in the world, thanks to Parrot Analytics’ global demand measurement system. This week, Netflix’s latest mega-hit Narcos has continued to be the most in-demand digital original series and the seventh-most popular show overall in the US. Demand for season three of Narcos is growing (up 55% from last week). The crime drama had roughly twice as much demand as Ozark this week. On the other hand, the third-ranked digital original series Stranger Things had 22% greater demand than Marvel’s The Defenders, per our OTT ratings chart. The new season of Bojack Horseman led to it rising in the ranks to #8.
The overall title chart remains largely unchanged: Demand for HBO’s Game of Thrones nearly halved compared to last week. Conversely, Starz’s Power grew by 22% compared to last week, possibly due to leaks appearing online. AMC’s The Walking Dead rose in demand slightly; this resulted in steady titles such as FX’s American Horror Story rising in the ranks to #6. A surprise entry in the overall shows chart is Stephen King’s IT which ranked #5 this week – the popularity of the 2017 movie has spilled over to the 1990 mini-series.
