Top 10 Most Popular Television Shows in the US (April 16 – April 22, 2017)

24 April, 2017

Do you know what the most popular television show is in the United States? This week we can reveal that Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why was the number one title in the top digital original series chart in the United States. We have now observed this teen drama series topping the digital original series chart three times in a row, as well being at the top of the overall series chart two weeks in a row. But despite this series having five times more demand than Marvel’s Iron Fist, it suffered a 13% drop in demand, compared to last week.

A new series has appeared in the digital original chart this week: Netflix’s Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a revival comedy series with a science-fiction theme that was launched on April 14 with a new cast, including Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt. Orange is the New Black, Hulu’s The Path and Trailer Park Boys all had less than a 15% week-on-week change in demand, indicating that these titles will likely remain in the top 10 until new titles or new seasons are released, resulting in more demand. What about the most popular television show overall? – In the overall series chart, the top five was unchanged from last week. A new entry this week was Syfy’s The Magicians; the average demand for this fantasy series is only slightly more than CW’s The Flash.
