Thanks to Parrot Analytics’ global TV content demand measurement system it is now possible to generate streaming ratings for content watched on SVOD services, as well as broadcast television, for almost any country in the world. This week in the USA, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black overtook previous fan-favourite 13 Reasons Why due to the recent hack. The Handmaid’s Tale from Hulu slips to number three in the top digital original series chart in the United States. The prison drama series had 30% more demand than The Handmaid’s Tale.
Netflix’s The Keepers, which is a seven-part documentary series about the unsolved murder of a Baltimore nun and the horrific secrets and pain that linger nearly five decades after her death, has been propelled to the fourth position and surpassed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt by 33% in demand this week.
Our streaming ratings also showed that in terms of new series, the average demand for Netflix’s Master of None lost approximately 130% compared to last week while Sense8 lost just 33% in demand. Both titles have recently been launched.
AMC’s The Walking Dead is still the top show by a comfortable margin in the overall show chart this week, followed by CW’s The Flash. Older favorites such as HBO’s Game of Thrones, HBO’s Westworld and Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars are in the top ten alongside new hits such as Starz’s American Gods and Showtime’s Twin Peaks.
